Restoring from an older backup can be done from the Advanced Restore.<\/p>\n<p><strong>To restore from an older backup:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol type=\"1\">\n<li>Open <a title=\"Advanced Restore\" href=\"http:\/\/gtlwiki.genie9.com\/index.php\/advanced-restore\/\" target=\"_blank\">Advanced Restore<\/a> from the <strong>Dashboard<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Restore from an older backup.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Browse for the drive\/destination that has the older backup, or browse for the backup folder (Normally its name is <strong>_Genie Timeline<\/strong>).<\/li>\n<li>If there is more than one backup on the drive\/destination, Genie Timeline will load the backups that are on the location to select from the list.<\/li>\n<li>Move the Timeline slider to select the time frame to restore data from.<\/li>\n<li>Expand the folder structure to browse for the files and folders needed to be restored.<\/li>\n<li>Select the files, blue check marks indicate that all files and folders are selected, grey indicates partial selection.<\/li>\n<li>Select the data you wish to restore.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Next<\/strong> to proceed to <a title=\"Set Restore Options\" href=\"http:\/\/gtlwiki.genie9.com\/index.php\/set-restore-options\/\" target=\"_blank\">Restore Options<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><em><strong>Note: <\/strong><\/em><\/span><em>When encryption is enabled, you will be prompted to enter the encryption password before proceeding to the Restore Options.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Every time a user chooses a new destination to backup to, the old backup database is closed and the active one is the default view in Advanced Restore and Timeline Explorer.
