{"id":7222,"date":"2013-11-12T13:23:31","date_gmt":"2013-11-12T13:23:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gtlwiki.genie9.com\/?p=7222"},"modified":"2013-12-03T13:10:41","modified_gmt":"2013-12-03T13:10:41","slug":"configure-email-notifications","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/helpftl.backup119.jp\/index.php\/configure-email-notifications\/","title":{"rendered":"Configure email notifications"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This option will send reports of the backup status directly to the user&#8217;s Inbox.<\/p>\n<p><strong>To Email the backup status:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol type=\"1\">\n<li>Open the <a title=\"Genie Timeline Dashboard\" href=\"http:\/\/gtlwiki.genie9.com\/index.php\/genie-timeline-dashboard\/\" target=\"_blank\">Dashboard<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Under <strong>Tools<\/strong>, select <strong>Settings<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Email Notifications<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Email me backup status<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Under <strong>Notification Schedule<\/strong>, select one or both options:\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li><strong>Send Every:<\/strong> This will send a backup status on a specific day of the week.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Send when an error occurs:<\/strong> Send an email when there is an error; the backup destination is full, it has been several days since the last backup, or failed files for backup.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Under <strong>Email Server Settings<\/strong>, users can send emails via one of the following methods:\n<ol type=\"1\">\n<li><strong>Use Genie&#8217;s email service:<\/strong> Let Genie9 send email notifications using the Genie email service. <a title=\"https:\/\/online.genie-soft.com\/web2\/login.aspx\" href=\"https:\/\/online.genie-soft.com\/web2\/login.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">Register<\/a> for free to create a Genie Account (My Account) and enable this service. A confirmation email will be sent with the registration information. Then enter the following:\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>Email: The email address used to create a free My Account.<\/li>\n<li>Password: The password sent in the confirmation email.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Use My own email server:<\/strong> Enter the following information:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol type=\"disc\">\n<ol type=\"disc\">\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li><strong>SMTP server:<\/strong> The name or IP address of SMTP server to be used for sending notification emails.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Port:<\/strong> SMTP sending port. (25 by default).<\/li>\n<li><strong>My email:<\/strong> The email address to receive notification emails.<\/li>\n<li><strong>This server requires an encrypted connection:<\/strong>\u00a0Select this option if your SMTP server supports secure connection via SSL or TLS. Select <strong>AUTO<\/strong> if you are not sure of the encryption type your SMTP server supports.<\/li>\n<li>This<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>My email requires authentication<\/strong>, and enter:\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>Username: Email account username.<\/li>\n<li>Password: Email account password.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ol>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"7\" type=\"1\">\n<li>Click <strong>Send test email<\/strong> to send a test email using these settings.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Save<\/strong> to save changes.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>Note:<\/strong><\/span> You can edit your email subject in the <strong>Email subject<\/strong> field.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This option will send reports of the backup status directly to the user&#8217;s Inbox.
